The short version

Today the app keeps everything on your device. You do not need an account to use it, and your learning progress is not sent anywhere.

What is stored, and where

Learner profiles and progress — which letters you have met, which lessons you have finished — are saved in your browser’s own storage on the device you are using. They do not leave it. Clearing your browser’s storage for this site deletes them, and we cannot recover them, because we never had them.

Children

A child’s profile is stored on the device and nowhere else. We do not collect a child’s name, age or behaviour on any server, and there is no profile of a child for us to hold, share or lose. This is a deliberate design decision, not only a policy one.

Payments

When paid plans open, payments are handled by our payment provider. Card and bank details are entered with them and are never sent to us or stored by us; we receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, and the billing record we are required to keep.

Syncing between devices

Syncing progress between your own devices is not available today and is planned for January 2027. Until it exists, nothing about your learning is transmitted anywhere. When it does exist it will be something you choose to turn on, for an adult’s own progress, and a child’s profile will stay on the device.

Deleting your data

Because progress lives on your device, you can delete it yourself: remove the profile in the app, or clear this site’s storage in your browser. When accounts exist, deleting an account will delete the learning data held for it; we keep only the billing records the law requires us to keep.

Getting in touch

If you want to know what we hold about you, the answer today is your billing record if you have paid, and nothing else. Ask us any time.
